The Knott-Stephens Tour is coming to Detroit

The DRC will be hosting the Knott-Stephens Tour in Detroit Friday, September 30th through the morning of Sunday, October 2nd.

All members are encouraged to participate in the weekend's events and show "Team Britain" our famous Detroit hospitality.

Schedule:

Friday, September 30th

The club will be hosting a Stag Dinner (Coat & Tie) at the Detroit Racquet Club on the evening of Friday, September 30th. Provided no delays in the KST's travel schedule, we can expect to see some quality racquets played on Friday before dinner.

Saturday, October 1st

The club will be open on Saturday from 10am to 5pm. All members are encouraged to participate on Saturday whether they plan to play with the Knott Stephens Tour on court or share a drink with them at the bar.

The Knott Stephens Tour:

The Knott-Stephens Tour was established over 30 years ago by Jimmy Knott and Bill Stephens as a way to expose racquets players on both sides of the Atlantic to the other continent's courts and racquets/rackets communities. The tour takes place every two years and alternates between North American players visiting the UK and Brits visiting North America. The eight members of the team are usually in their mid to late twenties. Those of you who have had the opportunity to go on a Knott Stephens tour will already know what a rewarding experience it is.

A Message from the Knott-Stephens Tour Captain:

All, This morning, the tourers got together at Queens for a pre-tour hit and briefing. You could tell there was a sense of nervous anticipation in the air, as there were slightly more frames and air shots than usual… Thank you to all the hosts for your email correspondence over the past few months, and also arranging billeting, dinners and matches etc. Without which, this tour would not be possible. We are very excited to see what the next two weeks has in store for us, and look forward to seeing you all over the 7 legs of the tour.

Serve up! Jack Dymoke
